Volunteers and music lovers are joining forces to host a major event to raise funds for the humanitarian effort in Ukraine.
‘Gig for Ukraine’ is being organised by volunteers from across the Ribble Valley who want to support and help Ukrainian refugees.
The event which features X Factor's Kelsey Gill and band Drive will take place at The Grand, Clitheroe on Saturday 21 May.
Organisers said: “We have all been struck by the horrors that have unfolded in Ukraine. Watching footage of families fleeing their beloved country, forced to leave loved ones behind to defend their homeland has been harrowing to say the least.
“Clitheroe Rotary Club will distribute the monies raised to ensure that funds are directed locally and used to support our community effort in helping families fleeing war torn Ukraine.
“Any remaining monies raised will be donated to the Government supported Disasters Emergency Committee fund.
“With the support of local businesses offering high value auction items, you could be walking away with more than tired dancing feet.
“We want to say an enormous thank you to our incredible line-up, who are all donating their amazing musical talents to make Gig for Ukraine a roaring success and provide our equally brilliant audience an awesome night at the Grand.”
Artists announced for the night include Drive, who have performed at the Empress ballroom, Winter Gardens and having supported The South and featured on the same bill as Simply Red, The Farm and Jools Holland.
X Factor's Kelsey Gill has supported serial chart-topper, Becky Hill in 2021 and dominated playlists nationwide with her collaboration with MRK.
A local talent, Arthur Geldard is a Swing and Jazz vocalist and performs a mixture of vintage swing and a take on more modern classics.
Hollywood Pops & The Data are described as a 'flamboyant Indie/Rock band' from Clitheroe, fronted by singer/songwriter Paul Tierney (Pops).
