A ‘vibrant’ nursery where children are ‘superbly’ supported by staff has retained its outstanding rating.
Little Cheeky Monkeys, in Great Harwood, has received its third back-to-back outstanding rating from Ofsted, from 2011, 2016 and 2022.
The nursery has been praised for having superb staff, excellently behaved children and inspirational leadership.
Owner Faye Westwell said: “We never become complacent of our Ofsted gradings or the positive comments we hear about the nursery.
“With the support of our families and our passionate nursery team, we are so proud to have achieved outstanding again.
“As owners, Paul and I have worked endlessly to ensure that we, as nursery owners, are providing the highest standard of care and education for children and thrive on doing just that.
“Being graded outstanding for the third time really does give us all of the assurance of the fantastic job we are doing and how important early years professionals really are.”
Parents are very complimentary of the setting and receive regular video clips and photos to show their child’s progress and achievements in electronic journals.
Children are well settled with an abundance of activities for them to take part in. The babies explore textures, shapes and sizes and learn to hold objects while pre-school children analyse the change in substance, using vinegar and baking soda and skilfully using pipettes and test tubes to carry out the experiment.
Staff quickly identify SEND children and liaise with management to plan timely and successful interventions, meaning the children feel included and safe and make significant progress.
The inspectors said that the manager is ‘inspirational’ in her pursuit to provide the highest quality of care and education for children, sharing an ambitious curriculum and vision for the setting confidently with highly experienced staff.
The nursery provided children with ongoing support during the Covid-19 lockdown including home activities and videos from staff to their key children.
In 2008, when the nursery was inspected for the first time since opening it was rated good. It has been rated outstanding in every subsequent inspection.
