SquareMeal has released its list of Top 100 restaurants in the UK and Moor Hall has made the list.
Placing seventh overall, Moor Hall in Aughton, Lancashire was praised for Chef-Patron Mark Birchall's "distinctive style" and "unique tasting menu".
Birchall was previously an executive chef at two-Michelin-starred restaurant L'Enclume in Cartmel, which came fifth on the list.
Much of the restaurant’s produce is grown on the five-acre estate or sourced locally and the hall has rooms placed within a historic 16th-century manor.
Squaremeal said: "Guests can choose to dine from a four- or eight-course menu at lunchtimes, while dinner is a set eight-course menu.
"Naturally, the menu changes all the time, but the kinds of dishes guests can expect to encounter include smoked eel with potato, fermented garlic and flowers, Scottish langoustine with radish, purslane and nasturtium and Worcester pearmain with woodruff, birch sap and marigold."
You can also have a wine pairing with your meal and can book a private dining room for up to 14 guests.
SquareMeal is the UK’s leading independent restaurant guide and it deliberately excludes London restaurants to allow venues from around the UK to be recognised.
SquareMeal brings the Top 100 list together using thousands of reader votes and their own expert critics, featuring everything from fine dining experiences through to farm-to-table restaurants and gastropubs.
