A NEW dentist surgery has opened in Blackburn following a £1.2million investment.
The UK’s largest dentistry provider, mydentist, has officially launched its new-look practice in an opening ceremony attended by former Love Island contestant Callum Jones.
After a makeover lasting nearly six months and marking an investment of £1.2m, Callum - who appeared on the solitary Winter Love Island - helped practice manager Robyn Lawson to cut the ribbon to declare the newly expanded practice open.
The major extension has seen the Railway Road practice grow from six to 16 surgeries after expanding the practice into former office space on the first and second floor of the building – this makes it the second-largest practice in mydentist’s network of nearly 600 sites.
Patients will now benefit from modern, state-of-the-art surgeries and dental equipment, longer opening hours including Saturdays and evenings, plus better accessibility with ground floor surgeries and a disabled toilet.

As part of the project, 12 jobs have been created for dental nurses, dentists, receptionists, an assistant practice manager and treatment co-ordinator.
A full range of dental treatments are on offer at the practice including teeth whitening, teeth straightening for adults and children, smile makeovers and dental implants.
Heidi Helsdon, mydentist area development manager, said: “We were thrilled that Callum could join us to officially open our new look practice.
"The project has been many months in the making and we are thrilled with how it looks.
“With 16 surgeries this is the second biggest across the mydentist network. Our aim was to make sure we meet patients’ needs now and in the future.
"We have more appointments for our existing patients and beyond this, we know that accessing dental care in this region is difficult which is why we have introduced myoptions, an affordable way to access a dentist when you need one.”
