A dance theatre are bringing an exciting whirlwind of contemporary dance, music, poetry and fun to an East Lancashire primary school on Wednesday.
Coalesce Dance Theatre will bring a production of The Old Green Time Machine to Belthorn Academy Primary School on Wednesday April 13.
The performance of The Old Green Time Machine is part of a day of holiday club activities hosted at the school over Easter, with members of the public invited to attend the show and the stay and play activities in the morning.
The performance follows the journey of two intrepid and quirky time travellers who are in a race to save the world.
In a future where all living things have been destroyed and all that’s left is plastic, the two adventurers find themselves on an urgent journey into the past to change the course of history.
The show explores the importance of climate action and how we are all responsible for making positive changes to save the planet.
With an interactive ‘Stay, play and learn’ session after the performance, audience members can meet the characters and stay behind for some planet saving tips and tricks.
Spot On Programmer, Lyndsey Wilson, said: “Coalesce Dance Theatre is a brilliant female led dance company who approach topical subjects with an uplifting and engaging approach.
"Their whimsical storytelling originally captivated audiences in libraries across the North West and the show is now destined for a run of outdoor performances.
"We’re crossing our fingers for good weather, but we’ve got an indoor or covered performance space as a backup for each event.”
The event begins at 10am with stay and play immediately afterwards.
Tickets are £6 per child (with the accompanying adult free) and can be purchased via the box office on 07711 848994.
This show is part of the Spot On Spring season, with a tour to Fairhaven Lake in Lytham St Annes on Thursday April 14 and to Darwen Market on Saturday April 16.
