East Lancs contestants are needed for new series of ITV gameshows hosted by football legends Ian Wright and Gary Lineker.
ITV producers are on the hunt for East Lancashire people to take part in two gameshows, which have been recommissioned for a new series.
Moneyball and Sitting on a Fortune have both been recommissioned for a new series, giving those taking part the chance to win a large sum of money.
Hosted by football legend and former Burnley FC striker, Ian Wright, Moneyball is the nail-biting game show that sees the chance of winning life-changing money rest entirely on the roll of a ball.
Series two will see teams of two contestants have the chance to accumulate large sums of money by correctly answering a series of questions; however, as the money in the pot grows, so does the pressure, and players must hold their nerve in the countdown to the final ball being played - the Moneyball.
Players can choose to quit the game at any point and take one final roll of the Moneyball to win their cash but they risk losing it all if they don’t land their ball in the WIN zone.
This ensures the viewers are kept in as much suspense as the players themselves, with everyone on the edge of their seat until the very end.
Ian Wright, who won promotion to the old Division 1 at Turf Moor over 20 years ago, said: “I loved filming the first series of Moneyball.
"Our guests are winning and losing life changing amounts of money so every time I entered the studio it was a real emotional roller coaster for me.
“I get really invested in every contestant’s story about what they will do with the money so to be back knowing we’ll get a few more winners, is great.
“More than anything, this show is pure entertainment, and we have a lot of fun making it, so I look forward to it being back on prime-time ITV.”
Sitting on a Fortune, the high-tension game show in which players could win up to £100,000, also returns with iconic footballer and broadcaster Gary Lineker at the helm.
Featuring six players, six chairs and no lifelines or exits, this is a pressure cooker of quiz show.
The players take to the stage in a row of seats, one behind another; however, positioning is key.
Only the player in the money seat can answer questions, build the jackpot, and have the chance of winning the whole thing.
However, one wrong answer sees that player relegated to the back of the line, as the next person moves up to take pole position.
With the jackpot mounting, there can be only one winner. Who can stay in the hot seat long enough to walk away with up to £100,000?
In this show there really can only be one player left sitting on a fortune.
Gary Lineker says: "I am absolutely thrilled Sitting on a Fortune is back!
"It's an incredibly exciting show to host with so much drama and tension right from the word go! I'm looking forward to bringing the thrill of the game to people's screens again.
“With so much riding on every single question, there really is nothing else like it on TV.”
Moneyball and Sitting on a Fortune are co-produced by Potato and Possessed, both part of ITV Studios for ITV.
The series’ are commissioned by Head of ITV Entertainment Commissioning Katie Rawcliffe and ITV Commissioning Editor for Entertainment Joe Mace.
Executive Producers are Glenn Hugill, Possessed, Michael Kelpie, Martin Scott and Barry Hart, Potato. ITV Studios will handle international distribution for both formats.
Katie Rawcliffe, head of ITV Entertainment Commissioning, said: “Having both Ian and Gary return with their compelling gameshows is a real treat.”
Michael Kelpie, managing director of Potato, added: “We absolutely love producing shows that combine skill, a touch of chance and edge of your seat tension that you just can’t look away from, and both Moneyball and Sitting on a Fortune have that winning combination.
“Each offer contestants the chance to win life-changing amounts of cash and are hugely exciting and fun to play – especially with legends Ian Wright and Gary Lineker there to support the players and rule over proceedings!”
Glenn Hugill, managing director of Possessed says: “Get ready for a new season. After thrilling debuts, our legendary strikers return for extra time.
“Wright rolls the ball back into the danger zone. Lineker times his run upfront to perfection. They shoot. They score. The crowd goes wild. The Beautiful Gameshows are back on the box.”
The closing date for both shows is May 20.
