A MAN was kicked in the head several times during a late night attack in a town centre, police said.
Officers said the 54-year-old, who had been drinking on his own in the street in Accrington, was assaulted by the same group of men in three or four separate incidents on Friday night.
Police said the most serious assault happened at around 9pm in Blackburn Road, near the junction of Hyndburn Street when the man was approached by two men who kicked him in the head several times.
He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where he was treated for swelling and bruising to his face.
A 59-year-old man been charged with assault in connection with the incident. Two other local men, a 50-year-old and a 59-year-old have been bailed by police pending further inquiries.
