CHILDREN in Darwen will be joined by the mayor at a read with your baby' session.
Coun Maureen McGarvey, will visit Darwen Children's Centre, in Lord Street, on Monday February 4 from 10.30 to 11am.
She said: " I am really looking forward to meeting parents and babies during this special year - the national year of reading.
"It's important to get young children interested in reading and listening to stories from a very early age."
Read with your baby' sessions are free and take place every Monday from 10am to noon in the library at Darwen Children's Centre.
Parents/carers and babies are welcome.
