A brave mum who was battling terminal bowel cancer has died aged just 33.
Danielle Harker, from Burnley, received the devastating diagnosis in August 2021, after living for many years with Crohn's disease, and sadly passed away on Saturday.
The diagnosis, which was originally stage three but progressed to stage four, changed the mum-of-two's life dramatically, as Danielle had to undergo six rounds of chemotherapy after being told the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and her womb.
Danielle, who was mum to Shae, three and Arlo, two, was being cared for in her final days at Pendleside Hospice.
Two fundraisers had been set up in Danielle's name to help give financial support to her children as well as raise funds for Bowel Cancer UK, raising more than £21,000 so far.
Suzi Folley, Danielle's mother, said: "A tribute to my daughter. To my gorgeous girl, the strength of a warrior the beauty of a princess.
"After eight months of battling her cancer she now rests in total peace. She was stunning, she lit up a room with her presence, smile and engagement of all around her.
"She had a gift to readily support her family and friends offering clear truths and advice with wisdom beyond her years.
"From age 17 with a diagnosis of Crohn's disease life was challenging.
"She spent six weeks in Hope hospital's intensive care unit and survived.
"She mastered her Crohn's, developing a career around her symptoms.
"She met her soul mate Anthony and married him in Cyprus on a white beach.
"Shortly followed the birth of her two beautiful munchkins.
"They are her mirror image with strong personalities.
"What a legacy she leaves us all. My brave, beautiful girl. At peace at last."
Her sister-in-law, Laura Doughty, added: "If only you could have survived off love alone you would live forever.
"I’m so thankful you took so many pictures and videos so we can watch and feel your presence forever, you’ve left a huge hole in our family.
"Thank you for making my brother so happy, thank you for giving us those two beautiful children that you will live on through.
"Thank you for teaching me so many things in life.
"I promise to always be there we will keep your smile and laugh in our hearts forever. You were truly inspirational, until we meet again beautiful.
"You're at peace now."
Posting on Facebook on Monday, her devastated father Mark Folley said: "I cannot put into words how I feel.
"I dropped the kids off at nursery this morning, then drove to the funeral home where Danielle is.
"I stood there with my hands on the door of the building, just so that Danielle would know she was not alone. Broken."
