Some East Lancashire towns are set to get snow later today with the white stuff expected to fall this evening.
This comes just days after the area basked in glorious sunshine and 19°C heat.
Today (30 March) in Lancashire, temperatures are expected to dip below freezing with some towns set to see light snow and sleet.
The rest of the week is also set to be chilly with temperatures not predicted to reach double digits.
According to the Met Office forecast, Darwen, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale will be hit with light snow at around 8pm.
Other areas of East Lancashire are forecast sleet – but this could all change so keep an eye on the forecast.
Blackburn
Blackburn is set to see heavy rain which changes to cloudy by the evening. Currently, snow is not forecast.
Highs of 6°C and lows of 0°C.
Darwen
Darwen will see a mixture of heavy rain, sleet and light snow today.
Sleet is forecast at 7pm with light snow expected to sweep in at 8pm.
Cloudy skies are forecast from 9pm onwards.
Highs of 5°C and lows of 0°C.
Ribble Valley (Clitheroe)
Light rain is forecast for this area of Lancashire – but no snow. It will be an overcast day and the rain is set to completely clear by 8pm.
Highs of 5°C and lows of 0°C.
Hyndburn (Accrington)
Heavy rain is expected from 10am, turning lighter between 11am-12pm. Sleet is forecast at 3pm and then again from 7pm-8pm.
Highs of 5°C and lows of 0°C.
Burnley
Light rain is forecast in the morning but conditions will turn wintry as the day goes on. Sleet is expected from 3pm-4pm.
Sleet is set to return from 7pm turning to light snow by 8pm.
Highs of 5°C and lows of 0°C.
Pendle (Barnoldswick)
Heavy rain is forecast from 10am-2pm, turning to sleet at 3pm.
The sleet is set to return between 5pm and 6pm, turning to light snow by 7pm.
Highs of 4°C and lows of -1°C.
Rossendale (Rawtenstall)
Heavy rain changing to overcast by lunchtime.
Sleet is expected at 7pm with light snow in the forecast for 8pm
Highs of 5°C and lows of -1°C.
