THREE charities received a boost for the New Year thanks to a fundraiser at a Ramsbottom pub.
Bury Hospice, Peel Lions Club and the Fire Service National Benevolent Fund received £120 each from the proceeds of a Christmas fundraiser at the Good Samaritan.
Drinkers at the Peel Brow pub raised the £360 through a Christmas raffle. Mystery gift-wrapped prizes ranging from kettles and irons to mp3 players were up for grabs in the competition.
The raffle was first organised by customers Duncan and Tracy Ingam in 2006 and looks set to become an annual event.
