A BLACKBURN man is preparing for a 'big night' in a bid to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

Stuart Price is taking part in The Great Tommy Sleep Out to raise money for veterans across the country.

Stuart, whose father John served in the forces, will bed down in his sleeping bag at East Lancashire Cricket Club’s Alexandra Meadows ground tonight (March 18) to raise money for the Blackburn branch.

And to boost his efforts, construction firm Casey’s has raised £500 for Stuart’s fundraising efforts.

Stuart lives in a Great Places Housing Association property, and so the firm's staff chipped in - and this was topped up by Casey’s.

Stuart said: "There will be nine from the branch down at East Lancs on Friday night, which is a fantastic effort.

"I’ll be just taking a tent and warm clothes on Friday night. I’m part looking forward to it and part nervous but it’s for a very good cause.

"Casey’s have been very generous, both the company and the workers, and hopefully by the time Friday comes I hope to have raised £900."
