THERE'S no resting for Molly Garvin who has just turned 100 - she's raring to get to her next exercise class.

Molly, of Mowbray Avenue, Blackburn, turned 100 on Thursday and celebrated with her friends, family and neighbours over a buffet lunch.

Molly worked as a ring spinner and then part-time in a bakery before she retired aged 65.

In her retirement she has kept herself active and still regularly attends exercise classes with friends.

She said: "That's what's kept me going. It's good company and I enjoy it - I'll be going along next week."

A telegram from the Queen sits proudly among the collection and will be added to the cards Molly got on her 60th and 65th wedding anniversaries.

Not all of Molly's extended family, who are spread around the country, could make her actual birthday, but are coming together for a special party tomorrow afternoon.

She said: "I had such a nice day. I've got ever so many flowers and I've had a lot of cards too.

"I'll be surrounded by all my family. I know I've got 17 grandchildren, great grandchildren and even great-great-grandchildren.

"There are so many, I've lost count."
