EAST LANCASHIRE firefighters were the victims of an "unacceptable" attack last night (March 13).
Hyndburn Fire Station said thankfully no firefighters were injured in the incident, but that the behaviour was "completely unacceptable".
It is not currently clear how the attack unfolded, but mud and stones were thrown at the firefighters in Ribbleton, Preston.
A spokesperson for Hyndburn Fire Station said: "Our firefighters were attacked last night while attending a fire in Ribbleton, Preston, by individuals throwing mud and stones.
"Although none of the firefighters sustained injuries, this behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated."
