A CEREMONY to mark Holocaust Memorial Day was held in Blackburn yesterday.
Blackburn with Darwen Interfaith Council supported the event with a service on the steps of Blackburn Town Hall, King William Street.
Chair of the Interfaith Council Derek Estill opened the ceremony at 2pm and Rabbi Arnold Saunders gave the main address.
Multi-faith prayers were offered by a member of each of the different faiths represented on the Interfaith Council.
The Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen, Coun Maureen McGarvey and her consort Patrick McGarvey attended the service, along with the leader of the Council leader, Coun Colin Rigby and chief executive Graham Burgess.
