A pensioner was almost robbed as she was walking home.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the attempted robbery in Ansdell, near Lytham.
Officers were called around 10.15am on Monday March 7 to an incident where a man attempted to steal a 75-year-old woman’s handbag.
The woman was walking home along Pembroke Road after getting off the number 17 bus when she was approached from behind and pushed to the ground suffering facial injuries as a result.
The offender, who ran away empty handed, is described as tall with dark hair.
An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.
DC Jade Mason of Lancashire Police said: “We want to speak to anyone who got off the number 17 bus at around 9:50am on Marine Road close to the Fairhaven Pub, or anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to please get in touch.
"We also want to hear from anyone between Clifton Drive and Windsor Road who may have CCTV or dash cam footage that could assist with our investigation.”
