BBC Radio 1 presenter, Jordan North, has revealed some of his favourite Burnley boozers on a podcast.
Jordan appeared on The Moon Under Water podcast, which is hosted by a pub landlord called John Robins, alongside Robin Allender.
On the podcast, they invite special guests to create their ‘perfect pub’ and also discuss some of their favourite watering holes.
Proud Burnley lad Jordan appeared on their most recent episode and gave some of his hometown pubs a shout out.
Speaking about the Burnley pub scene, he said: “A lot of them are traditional and working men's club.
“I would say your best seller is your standard lager but you can get some real ales.
“You don’t see it on tap often, but you can get a John Smith's and Boddingtons.
“If I see a Boddies on tap in a pub I’ve just got to have it because it’s so silky smooth”
Jordan, 32, also mentioned a string of his favourite pubs near the Burnley embankment.
On the podcast, he said: “There’s a great area of Burnley called ‘under culvert’ which is basically a bridge in Burnley. Under that bridge, just down the road from Turf Moor stadium, are a load of great pubs.
“There’s the Turf Pub, named after Turf Moor stadium.
“You’ve got The Miners, which sells the most Benedictine in the world. This is a French liqueur that troops from East Lancashire brought over to Burnley after the war.
“It’s been popular in Burnley ever since.
“On a night out, other young people might have a Jager bomb but we have Benebombs, which is Benedictine mixed with red bull.
“There’s one called The Royal Dyche, which was named after our Burnley’s football manager, Sean Dyche, a few years ago when he got us into Europe."
Host John, asked: “Will the pub change its name to every Burnley manager or will it just be Sean Dyche?
“Maybe if he left,” Jordan said “God forbid he did, I don’t know what they’d call it again.
“In my opinion, he’s the greatest manager ever… this is a new record for me. We’re four minutes in and I’ve already started talking about Burnley.”
Jordan was also asked to describe his ‘dream pub’ - and his would be reminiscent of his youth.
He said: “My dream pub doesn’t have to be fancy as long as it’s quite friendly and you know it’s a proper traditional, old fashioned pub.
“Blokes can go in after work, but you can also go in with your other half too.
“With many of my days growing up, Dad would get you a bag of crisps and pop at the pub on a Saturday.
“You can go and play footie on the car park while he gets p***** with your uncle - that type of pub."
Jordan recently completed a charity challenge for Comic Relief and managed to raise more than £500,000.
In the challenge, he rowed 100 miles of canals between London and Burnley.
He finished the challenge at Burnley last Friday and celebrated by drinking a cold pint of Guinness.
