POTENTIALLY-dangerous prescription drugs have been lost in Blackburn, police said.
A medical bag containing insulin was reported lost on Thursday at 8.30pm.
Police believe it was lost at Morrisons, Blackburn.
It is not yet clear whether the bag was taken deliberately or by mistake.
Inspector Wendy Jacobs: "We are investigating the full circumstances behind this incident.
"We are concerned that misuse of the insulin could be extremely dangerous or prove fatal if taken or injected.
"Anyone who finds or has knowledge of its whereabouts is asked to contact the police immediately to arrange for its proper disposal."
The drug is normally taken by people suffering from diabetes.
If taken, the insulin has the potential to lower blood pressure and blood sugar. Symptoms can develop into unconsciousness, coma and even death.
The bag is described as a black cloth shoulder bag, A5 in size with a flap, two zips at the back and studs round the side. It contains a red bag with syringes for diabetes, two loaded insulin pens and also some cream.
