JORDAN NORTH was undeterred by some banter directed towards him as he rowed through Blackburn on Friday (March 4), and thanked them for their generous donations.
He was completing a Comic Relief challenge, rowing 100-miles from London to Burnley, raising over £700,000 in the process.
A die-hard Lancashire lad and massive Clarets fan, the BBC Radio 1 presenter is familiar with the rivalry between Rovers and his club.
As he reached Blackburn on the final leg of his journey, Jordan was subjected to some good-natured mocking from Rovers fans but said that he was grateful to them.
He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Do you know what, fair play to the people in Blackburn.
"I got a bit of stick rowing through, but one lad popped his head out of the window and said 'even though you're a Dingle, I'll give you a fiver', and I just went "thanks pal!".
"Another lady went 'are you going back to Dingle land?', I said I am and she said I'll have to donate so even the lovely people of Blackburn have put their hands in their pockets."
The brutal challenge took Jordan several days and left him "physically and mentally broken", saying that next year he'll be "raising money from the Radio 1 studio" while somebody else completes a challenge.
