This mangled car was stopped on the motorway with the driver arrested for being obstructive.
Officers on a driving course in Cumbria were travelling south on the M6 on Thursday and noticed the wreck of a vehicle being driven in the same direction.
Seeing how dangerous the car, which was falling apart, could have been to other road users, police stopped the vehicle to have a word with the driver.
The driver was noted to be drunk and became obstructive so was arrested at the scene.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers on a driving course were shocked to see this vehicle travelling on the M6 south in Cumbria this afternoon.
"Seeing the obvious danger they intervened and stopped the vehicle to be confronted by a very obstructive drunk driver who was swiftly arrested."
