A MASSIVE £1.2million makeover will see two dental surgeries close as all practices are merged to one central location.

My Dentist has announced a major transformation for its main practice in Blackburn to increase the number of dental surgeries and range of treatments available.

Work at the Railway Road practice has been ongoing for the last few months, with existing sites on Preston New Road and Langham Road soon set to close as all locations are merged.

All existing staff will join the practice on Railway Road while a further 12 jobs have been created for dental nurses, dentists, receptionists, an assistant practice manager and treatment co-ordinator.

Patients will benefit from modern, state-of-the-art surgeries and dental equipment, longer opening hours including Saturdays and evenings, plus better accessibility with ground floor surgeries and disabled toilet.

A full range of dental treatments are on offer at the practice including teeth whitening, teeth straightening for adults and children, smile makeovers and dental implants.

Heidi Helsdon, My Dentist area development manager, said: “This has been a major transformation of our Railway Road practice and we’d like to thank everyone for their patience while building works have been completed.

"With 16 surgeries this site will be one of the largest in our network and will meet patients’ needs now and in the future.

“We will have more appointments for our existing patients and beyond this, we know that accessing dental care in this region is difficult which is why we have introduced MyOptions, an affordable way to access a dentist when you need one."

The company has written to patients of its Preston New Road and Langham Road practices to advise them that all pre-booked appointments will continue at the Railway Road site from March 7.
