Another shop has closed down in a well-known shopping centre, with no plans to return to the town.
Lancashire-based company Bodycare closed its store in the Accrington Arndale on Saturday, February 19, after the lease came to an end.
The company decided against renewing the lease in the shopping centre and said there are no plans at this moment to bring another store to the town.
This comes after a number of other stores left the centre including Iceland and Oddie's bakery.
A notice in the window of the store reads: "This Bodycare store will be closing on Saturday 19th February 2022.
"Many thanks for your custom over the years. Our nearest stores are Blackburn and Burnley."
Leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, Cllr Miles Parkinson said that although it is sad to see businesses leave the town, he hopes that more independents will be able to take up empty shop fronts.
Cllr Parkinson said: “It’s always sad to lose a business as that affects jobs which we do not want. The Arndale is going through a turbulent time.
“Retail is changing dramatically; the council will always work with the Arndale to seek what it wants to repurpose because it is such a large part of Accrington.
“As most major chains now are moving away from small and medium towns, the way of moving forward in Accrington is independent businesses but they are more likely to not move into shopping centres.
“Whether it’s Accrington, Blackburn or Burnley, you see large retailers moving away from shops and trading more online and it’s just a changing face.”
