The February half term may be over for most Lancashire pupils – but it’s never too early to start looking ahead to the next one.
A fun fair is heading to an East Lancashire park later this year, after facing two years of disruptions and alterations as a result of the Covid pandemic.
The bank holiday fun fair, which is organised by the Lancashire section of the Showman's Guild, will be returning to Witton Park in Blackburn this Easter, from 1 – 18 April.
Organisers are hoping to have 30 rides and attractions in total, ranging from adrenaline-pumping rides to others which are more suitable for younger children.
It will see the return of some fair-goer favourites, such as the dodgems, waltzers, ‘Twister’ ride and popular ‘Fighter’ ride.
However, some new rides may also be coming to the park and organisers have encouraged people to follow their Facebook page to keep up-to-date with plans.
A spokesperson for the fair said they are excited for the return.
They said: "We’re excited to be back, especially as it’s been three years since we were have been able to put on a fair at Witton Park over Easter.
"It was also great to receive such good support last May/June from local families, some of whom we know were enjoying their first big event since lockdown.
“This year we will be coming back for three weekends and will be here for the full extent of the Easter holidays.”
Entry to the park is free and ride prices will be confirmed closer to the time - last year they started from £2.
More details about the bank holiday fair will be announced closer to the time. Visit the Blackburn Bank Holiday Fun Fair Facebook page to learn more: https://www.facebook.com/BlackburnFunFair
