135 Lancashire homes are without power this morning as storm Dudley brings 80mph winds to the UK.
Lancashire’s power network operator, Electricity North West, said engineers were called out to “a number of incidents across the network which were caused by the strong winds” yesterday (16 February).
They dispatched engineers to a power cut affecting 2207 customers in Tarleton and Banks, near Preston, and Scarisbrick, which is between Ormskirk and Southport.
A number of Lancashire postcodes are without power this morning (17 February) and Electricity North West has given them an estimated power restoration time of around 3pm.
In Croston, Leyland, 118 homes are without power with over 140 postcodes affected.
17 customers are without power in Padiham, Burnley. The incident was first reported at 7:16 pm on Wednesday and power is set to be restored by 3pm.
The power cut has been caused by “an unexpected incident on the high voltage cable that provides electricity to your home or business”.
A spokesperson said: “We didn't know before your electricity went off that this was going to happen but now we know, rest assured we will get your power back on safely and as quickly as possible.”
