The Finch twins, who run a popular bakery in East Lancashire, have launched their very first Finch Bakery pop-up in Manchester.
The pop-up shop opened on Monday (7 February) on the ground floor of the Harvey Nichols department store on New Cathedral Street and will be open for a limited time.
Rachel Finch and Lauren Sinclair run Finch Bakery in Queen Street, Great Harwood and have taken social media by storm for several years with their mouth-wateringly tasty treats and aesthetic approach.
From indulgent brownies to colourful cake jars, they have brought some of their favourite sugary goodies and insta-worthy bakes to the department store.
So far, the new venture has been a roaring success with cakes selling out and customer queues which have stretched around the store.
Rachel said: “We are buzzing to be in Manchester and excited to have moved to a city – we have always wanted to and we can’t wait to see where it goes from there.
“It’s going really well and we have been really busy. We have been selling out bang on six O'Clock which has been really good.”
Pictures emerged of eager queues customers which stretched around the shop, which Rachel said was “amazing” to see.
She said: “It’s amazing and I think all the Harvey Nichols staff were a bit shocked to see such long queues in a prestigious store.
“It’s nice to see everyone queuing again. We have an online service at our Great Harwood store so we don’t get as much of a queue – it’s nice to create a bit of a buzz somewhere else.”
Rachel said it has been “stressful” communicating and running two different sites.
She said:“We’re finding it a bit stressful communicating between both sites – but it’s going well and we have a great team behind us.
“We have been using our Accrington and Great Harwood staff just for the first couple of weeks so we can find our feet.
“Hopefully it will smooth itself out.”
Budding bakers should keep an eye on the Finch Bakery’s social sites as the business is having to hire new staff in their Lancashire store in order to cope with the demand
Rachel said: “We are in the process of looking for new bakers to come into our Lancashire site over the weekend just so we can keep up with the demand.
“We will be putting new jobs out in the next week.”
