This photo from the archives is almost as battered as the pub it is showing. Taken in August 1965 you can see the major renovation work taking place at the Bonny Inn at Salesbury.
A new roof was being installed as the pub was extended at either end and comprehensively modernised.
The Bonny Inn had been a fixture in village life since 1822 when the original ‘landlord’ was a weaver who would serve ale when he wasn’t working on his loom.
The pub has undergone a number of transformations over the decades and is currently a very popular country dining pub retaining many original features.
