MOTORISTS are being told to expect delays on several East Lancashire roads over the coming days.

According to National Highways, road users could be waiting between 10 minutes and half an hour in some places as essential works take place.

The latest expected works list shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week.

People who using Lancashire's M65 are to expect disruption between 8pm and 6am until February 4 as road marking works takes place between junctions one and 11 eastbound.

Drivers in and around Burnley will have three road closures to watch out for this week and they are all are expected to cause moderate delays.

Work taking place on the A56 will see partial carriageway closures overnight until February 1. This is for carriageway repairs work.

Next week the M65 will be closed overnight on February 3 between junctions nine and ten eastbound as barrier and fence safety repairs are carried out.

Another closure will be in place overnight on February 4 for similar work to take place between junctions 11 and 1- westbound.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
