An over-the-limit driver who stole a car, crashed it and headbutted a police officer, has kept her freedom.
Burnley Magistrates heard how Sandy McLoughlin, 27, who had never been in trouble before, had shown remorse and apologised to the officer.
McLoughlin, of Birch Street, Bacup, admitted taking a vehicle without consent, insurance or licence, drink-driving and police assault, last December 16.
She was given an 18-month community order with supervision, a nine-month drug rehabilitation requirement and was banned for 36 months. She must pay £255 compensation.
