A popular family owned pub and restaurant is being sold to a major chain.
The Spread Eagle at Mellor was temporarily closed last week following an exchange of contracts as the owners get set to sell the business to Greene King.
The pub is expected to be re-opening soon following a refurbishment and of course, completion of the sale.
The family owned freehouse is situated in the Ribble Valley and has stunning views over the surrounding countryside.
A message on their Facebook page read: "The pub is temporarily closed following exchange of contracts ahead of a sale to Greene King.
"The pub is expected to re-open again very soon following some exciting refurbishment plans, pending completion of the sale.
"If you have an unredeemed gift voucher, please get in touch with us to discuss this before January 21.
"Please bear with us for a response soon."
The pub was run by Lesley and Stuart, along with their kitchen team led by head chef Joshua George.
The website is still displaying information on the home page, but the gift voucher, menu, booking and takeaway section are currently unavailable.
