SMASH: The scene of the last night's accident on Accrington Road, Whalley, where two cars were in a head-on collison
AN accident blackspot where campaigners have called for better lighting was the scene of another smash tonight when two cars were involved in a head on collision.
The accident occured in Accrington Road, Whalley, close to Spring Wood picnic site just before 7pm.
The elderly male driver of a Honda was taken to hospital as a precaution after the collision with a Suzuki 4x4.
The male driver of the Suzuki was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A 19-year-old Czech man died in a smash on this stretch of road last Sunday and two other people in the car were also injured.
The accidents follow the death of a Clitheroe pensioner in a fatal collision at the start of the new year.
