Visitors attending a gathering to commemorate the death of a much-loved Blackburn businessman witnessed a ‘miracle’ fruit.
According to Haji Muhammad Tariq Hussain’s son, Hafiz Abdul Basit, visitors were astonished to see the name 'Allah' in Arabic inside a sliced piece of sharon fruit which was intended to be served to guests.
More than 500 people attended the gathering at Madina Mosque, Oak Street last week, including Blackburn's councillors and former mayors.
Abdul Basit said: “My father was a well-known and humble businessman in Blackburn and has served the community since the 1970s with great respect.
“He was an altruistic individual placing others' needs ahead of his own, making preparations, displaying kindness, generosity and wisdom wherever he went.
"His passing has not only been a great loss to the family but for the community as all. He was a man of great qualities, deserving to be a great exemplar and will be remembered for his liberality.”
Abdul-Basit added: “We take it as a blessing that on this occasion a fruit with the words ‘Allah’ in Arabic was seen.”
Some people see such incidents as mere coincidence whilst others say it reaffirms their faith.
