National Farmers' Union livestock board chairman, Thomas Binns, of Downham, is in the running to be vice president of the organisation.
Voting has begun amongst NFU members.
Mr Binns farms 1,600 acres on a tenanted basis.
He has 2,500 breeding ewes and 100 suckler cows.
