The council is advising people to be aware of a number of flood alerts in place across Lancashire.
Wet weather is set to continue throughout the night across Lancashire and the North West with the Environment Agency making a number of checks to ensure the risk of flooding is mitigated.
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency North West said: "Wet weather is expected this afternoon and overnight across the North West.
"Our teams are out clearing grids to reduce flood risk to communities and remain available overnight 24/7 and 365 days.
"Check your flood risk and sign up for flood warnings here."
A spokesperson for Lancashire County Council said: "There are now a number of flood alerts in operation across Lancashire.
"For more information visit the govenment's website."
There are currently 20 flood alerts in place across the wider Lancashire area including the lower River Ribble and Darwen, Hodder and Upper River Irwell.
