COUNCILLORS have diverted two footpaths in a village after correcting the original map of public rights of way.
Blackburn with Darwen Council planning and highways committee told of the steps at its December meeting.
The two footpaths in Eccleshill have been rerouted because of the building of a new home and extension of an existing one at Cuckoldmans Farm in Roman Road, Eccleshill.
While preparing the documents for the diversion, officers notice that the a 'Definitive Map' of the rights of way was inaccurate.
The committee approved redrawing the map and then diverting Public Footpaths 185 and 226 Darwen around the development.
The paths run through the property's farmyard and its owner has asked for them to be rerouted.
Council legal officers will now follow the legal process to divert them.
