A Netflix TV show which was filmed in Lancashire will come to our screens on the 31 December – just in time for the new year.
Stay Close is an eight-part drama based on the TV adaptation of Harlan Coben’s best-selling mystery novel of the same name.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted the show’s film crews as they descended on Morecambe and Blackpool earlier this year.
One local woman, Jane Dickinson Patel, took several snaps of the show’s actor, James Nesbitt as filming took place in Morecambe back in March.
Nesbitt plays Broome, a detective who works with his ex-partner Erin Cartwright (played by Jo Joyner).
In the picture, Jane posed with Nesbitt at Morecambe sea front and also took pictures of him getting in a car.
The actor was also spotted in Blackpool while filming some dramatic scenes for the show.
They even used the ice cream van of a Fleetwood-based company, Niceone Ices, for one of the scenes.
The ferris wheel on Blackpool’s central pier can even be spotted in the new Netflix trailer.
The drama is from the team behind limited series The Stranger and follows three characters whose “dark secrets resurface, setting off a chain of events which threatens to destroy their lives,” according to Netflix.
Vera star Jumbo and Cold Feet actor Nesbitt will be joined in Stay Close by Hannibal’s Richard Armitage and Bancroft’s Sarah Parish.
Jumbo said she was “so excited” to work with executive producer Nicola Shindler, adding: “Can’t wait to get my teeth into such a brilliant British thriller.”
Northern Ireland-born Nesbitt described RED Production Company as a “northern powerhouse of world-class TV”, adding: “They are a benchmark for quality drama and I’m thrilled to be part of such a great production.
Her darkest secrets won't stay buried forever...
