A motorist is expected to receive a court summons through the post after being clocked doing more than double the speed limit on a 30mph road.
Traffic officers on Preston New Road in Blackpool caught the driver speeding at a staggering 70mph over the weekend.
And if racing down the carriageway at more than twice the legal limit wasn't bad enough, the weather conditions were wet, which increases the stopping time, which in turn could cause a serious, and possibly fatal accident.
A spokesperson for the road police said: "Another day and another high speed to bring you.
"This weekend we detected a vehicle travelling on Preston New Road in Blackpool, which has a 30mph limit, at 70mph in the wet.
"That driver will shortly have to explain their high speed to a magistrate."
