A total of 20 people have been taken to court and fined in the last month after they were caught speeding on some of Lancashire's busiest roads and motorways.

Of those 20, the majority (18) had their licences endorsed with penalty points with two being handed a disqualification from driving.

The offences all relate to speeding on either the M65, M61, M6, M62, M55 or M60 where the person has driven above the 70mph limit, or above the restricted 50mph limit.

Each person either appeared in court in person in November or were convicted and fined by the single justice procedure, meaning they did not attend a court for an official hearing.

Here are the names of the 20 people who have contravened the motorway speed limits (the dates in black italic correspond to the date the case appeared in court):

Thursday November 4

Majid Hussain, 35

Beaufort Street, Nelson

Exceed 70mph motorway limit. On March 27 at Rochdale drove a motor vehicle, namely Volkswagen on a motorway, namely M62 Eastbound between J19 and J20 travelling at 99 miles per hour, at a speed exceeding 70 miles per hour.
