A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a train guard was spat at.
The 17-year-old was apprehended by police at Kirkham and Wesham train station on Friday.
Initially, officers had been called to the station after receiving reports that a person without a ticket was being abusive to staff.
However, the situation escalated and a train guard reported to police that he had been spat at.
The teenager has since been released under investigation.
A spokesperson for the police said: "A 17-year old male was arrested at Kirkham and Wesham on suspicion of assault.
"Officers were initially en route due to a report of a person with no ticket being abusive.
"The situation escalated when the train guard reported he had been spat at.
"Male released under investigation."
