A MAN assaulted his partner and trashed the house when she came home from a night out at 7am.
Blackburn magistrates heard a month earlier Jake Bannister had thrown a mobile phone at her causing injuries to her face.
The court was told Bannister had been jailed in June for 20 weeks for another assault on the same victim.
Bannister, 31, of Hartley Street, Earby, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault and damaging property worth £1,000. He was jailed for 18 weeks.
Passing sentence Deputy District Judge Michael Hopkinson, said Bannister was developing a record for offences of violence.
“These have been relentless over the last couple of years and I am left with no choice other than an immediate custodial sentence,” said Deputy District Judge Hopkinson.
Wakkas Javed, prosecuting, said while his partner was out Bannister had been sending her “nasty” text messages.
“When she got home he attacked her,” said Mr Javed. “He smashed the TV in the bedroom and then smashed everything in the front room.”
Ben Leech, defending, said when Bannister was released from his last prison sentence the complainant had contacted him and wanted to reconcile the relationship.
