A man and a woman are in hospital after the car they were travelling in came off the road and crashed into a wall.
Police are now appealing for information following the incident which happened in Over Kellet on Wednesday.
Officers were called to Cockle Hill at 4.30pm on November 17 to a crash in which a Mitsubishi Space Star travelling uphill towards Kirkby Lonsdale had come off the carriageway and crashed into a wall.
The driver, a man in his 90s, suffered serious chest injuries.
The passenger, a woman in her 80s, suffered serious spinal injuries.
They both remain in hospital at this time.
No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.
The road was closed for several hours for the emergency services to carry out their work but has since re-opened.
Sgt Martin Wilcock, of the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit, said: “This collision has left two people seriously injured and my thoughts are with them at this time.
“We are now working to establish exactly what occurred and I would ask any witnesses or anybody with CCTV or dashcam footage which could assist our enquiries to contact the police.”
Anyone with information is asked to email 365@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 1050 of November 17.
