A TELEHANDLER was stolen from a rural location before being tracked down by a specialist national security service.
The telehandler, a specialist telescopic forklift truck worth around £45,000, was taken from the Colne area on Wednesday morning.
Rossendale Police’s rural task force teamed up with CanTrack Global Ltd who, between them, managed to recover the machine from a lock-up in Padiham.
Rossendale Police said: “In the early hours of the morning a Manitou telehandler was stolen from a rural location in the Colne area.
“Your Rossendale Rural Task Force have been on the case trying to track it down and with the assistance of our partners from CanTrack Global LTD, who have even provided staff to work with us, we can confirm that it has been found in a lock up in the Padiham area.
“It is now on its way back to a very happy owner. Further to that we are pleased to say that a man has been arrested and is currently in custody."
