Police are appealing for information after a man was left in a critcal condition following a serious crash.
The incident occurred at around 4.55pm on Saturday, October 30, on Singleton Road, Weeton, when a blue Ford Fiesta travelling towards Kirkham crashed with a Mini Cooper travelling in the opposite direction.
The Fiesta then overturned and smashed into the perimeter fence of Weeton Barracks and a tree.
The driver – a man in his 20s – suffered leg, chest and head injuries and was taken to hospital.
He remains in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the Mini – a woman in her 50s – suffered minor injuries.
The road was closed until around midnight while specialist investigators attended.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.
Sgt Marc Glass, of the Lancashire Police TacOps team, said: “This was a serious collision which has left a man in hospital, and we are working hard to piece together exactly what occurred.
“We are now appealing for information and would like to hear from anybody who saw the incident, saw either of the vehicles in the moments before the collision, or who has dashcam showing either of the vehicles or any part of the incident.
"If you have any information, please get in touch straight away.”
