Fifty brave ‘soles’ have turned-up the heat to raise money for an East Lancashire hospice.
Around 50 people helped to raise more than £8,000 when they took part in Pendleside Hospice's fire walk.
The walk was held at the hospice’s Reedley Hall grounds on Wednesday, and despite the weather not being very inviting, the participants took walking over the hot coals in their stride.
The brave people taking part were from their teens to people in their sixties, and included the hospice’s chief executive Helen McVey, who also launched the evening by lighting the coals.
Head of events and marketing at the hospice, Sammi Graham, said: “The event had been postponed twice before because of Covid restrictions but finally it happened and it was fantastic.
“I would like to thank everyone who took part and their supporters, and the event organisers UK Fire Walks, on what was not a particularly pleasant evening weather-wise.
“We also had a good turn out from the staff at the hospice, particular from the health, well-being and rehabilitation department.”
