A HASLINGDEN firm is set to become leaner and meaner - with help from a healthy workplace scheme set up by Rossendale council.
Bosses at Option Technologies Europe Ltd, on Carrs Industrial Estate, are the latest to sign up for an initiative which aims to improve the well-being of employees.
Workers took part in a survey, as part of the project, and the results showed that they felt their nutritional standards could be improved.
So now through a Government grant via the Healthy Communities campaign, the council is providing a fresh fruit basket for staff.
William McGarrie, the firm's operations director, said: "This initiative has been really well received.
"It has addressed an area staff identified as being important and the management team is keen to continue the initiative."
David Pierce, the council's principal environmental health officer, added: "The old saying healthy body, healthy mind' is very true when it comes to the workplace."
Businesses wanting more information are asked to contact the council's environmental health team on 01706 252560.
