At a recent meeting held at the St Stephens church Burnley, residents from the Burnley wood area of Burnley were over joyed to here the good news that their homes were to be saved after 5 years of threat from demolition.

As a local Councilor for this ward I believe this was achieved by the council listening to the views of the people that matter ,people who actually live within this regeneration ward, also the local action groups, residents association and individuals who constantly voice their disapprovals of whats happening within the ward:

People like Michael Mobey who has been petitioning the LCC and the towns MP Kitty Usher for a zebra crossing to be placed on parliament street, Mrs Duckworth, Mrs Denton & Mrs Smith to have the 3 derelict houses on Marlborough street demolished,Derek Pearson's fight against fly tipping and dirty back yards, Mr Lawrence on his plight against the imposition of loans on residents losing their homes to elevate,Karen Heseltine who spearheaded the fight by the Dall street residents to save their homes, and last but certainly not least the late Brian Fenn who started the ball rolling to make his beloved Burnley Wood a safer and cleaner place to live, but sadly won't be here to see it happen.

These people deserve all the credit thats due ,as they and the rest of the residents that remain are the proud life and souls of the Burnley Wood community.

As councilor I will strife to continue serving them to my best ability.
