A COUNCIL is to be asked to step in and prevent cuts to bus services.
Lancashire United, the private company in charge of Blackburn with Darwen's bus network, has announced changes to routes eight and nine, known as the Shadsworth and Audley circulars.
Both run after 10pm - but after January 27 the last service for route eight will be at 6.40pm and for route nine it will be at 7.10pm.
Services will no longer go via Burnley Road and Whitebirk Road, and will run every 20 minutes, rather than every 15 minutes.
Lancashire United is trying to stop the network running at a loss. Blackburn with Darwen council has the power to subsidise any services that are to be cut.
Council bosses are looking at the two services.
