PARISH councillors learnt that Parkwise had still not taken effective action against illegal parking on the double yellow lines outside the cottages on Brownside Road above the bridge.
It was felt that parking on the Town Hall steps would be tolerated by Parkwise if it was after 6pm. The Clerk is to write to Parkwise inviting representatives to meet with the Parish Council so that they can be given a tour of the Parish by the Parish Councillors.
It would also be a good opportunity for the Parish Councillors to point out the areas where persistent breaches of the law take place. A letter has also been sent to Chief Superintendent Neil Smith at Burnley Police Station advising him of the difficulties being experienced in Worsthorne with a request for his help in resolving the problem effectively.
