Aerospace company BAE Systems has secured a new Ministry of Defence contract worth in the region of £300 million.
Under the terms of the deal, BAE. which has a bse at Samlesbury, will be responsible for the upgrade of the Tornado GR4 fleet which will cost the MoD in excess of £200m The company has also been awarded an £84m contract to upgrade the Harrier GR9 aircraft. Much of the work will be split between the sights at Farnborough and Warton.
