A tribute has been paid to a motorcyclist who was sadly killed following a crash on Friday.
Police were called to the A588 Lancaster Road in Cockerham at 6.23pm following reports of a serious collision between a Yamaha YZF R6 and a Toyota Hilux pickup truck.
The rider of the motorcyclist – who has since been named as Kyle Barlow, aged 24 and from Blackpool – suffered serious injuries.
He was taken to hospital but sadly died on Saturday.
The driver of the Toyota was not injured and no arrests have been made.
The road was closed for around five hours while specialist officers attended.
Kyle’s family have since paid tribute to him, saying he is “greatly missed”.
They added: “From an early age Kyle loved being involved with both BMX and motor cross and has been passionate about bikes.
“He will be greatly missed by his parents Anne-Marie and Lee, his brothers Jordan, Reece, JayJay and Logan, his girlfriend Rebecca, niece Sofia and especially his daughter Patience, and all other family members and friends.
“We would now ask that we are left to grieve at this sad time.”
Police are now continuing to appeal for information following the incident.
Sgt Steve Hardman, of the serious collision investigation unit, said: “First and foremost my thoughts are with Kyle’s family and friends at this awful time.
“An investigation is very much underway and my team and I are determined to piece together exactly what occurred.
"We are continuing to appeal for information from members of the public.
“Perhaps you saw what happened, have dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist or maybe you saw the vehicles involved in the moments before the collision occurred.
“Whatever you know, please get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to email 2385@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 1306 of October 8.
