Manchester has been voted one of the top 10 cities in the UK for 2021.
Conde Nast Traveller collaborated with its sister title in the USA to rank the top ten cities in the UK based on nightlife, restaurants and friendliness and Manchester came in fifth.
Manchester is best known for being the music capital of the UK, home to bands such as Oasis and The Smiths.
It has a population of 2.7 million, making it the UK’s second-most populous urban area and has an infamous nightlife, with places such as Gay Village and Northern Quarter in the heart of the city.
In the poll, Manchester scored 86.50 by readers, closely followed by Cardiff and Cambridge.
It performed much better this year than in previous years - Manchester came in at tenth place in 2019 and didn’t make the top ten in 2020.
